Extinction
Species will become extinct because they can no longer survive and reproduce in an environment.
Scientists predict between ⅓ to ⅔ of all plant and animal species will become extinct during the second half of this century, most near the equator.
Species on islands are especially vulnerable to extinction with the addition of predators or non-native species which may bring disease
Background Extinction- the gradual process of species becoming extinct
Mass Extinction- an event in which a large percentage of all living species become extinct in a relatively short period of time. There have been 5 mass extinction events: (TAKE NOTES WITH THE BUTTON BELOW)
