TIME TO DRAW

FOR YOUR NOTEBOOK:  DRAWING ACTIVITY

The following is to be completed directly after the notes from Lesson 1 (vocabulary). 

Drawing 1:  Global Latitude and Longitude

Your drawing must include:

  • A circular drawing of the Earth, including approximate continents.  YOU MAY TRACE something circular.

  • Longitude lines (15, 30, 45)  degrees East and West

  • Label with name and degrees:

    1. Equator and Prime Meridian

    2. Tropic of Cancer & Tropic of Capricorn

    3. Arctic Circle & Antarctic Circle 

    4. Northern and Southern Hemispheres


Drawing 2: Pennsylvania

Your drawing must include:

  • A drawing of the shape of Pennsylvania

  • 4 dots with labels:  

    • Pittsburgh

    • Harrisburg

    • Allentown

    • Philadelphia

  • Place the Coordinates for the cities next to the dots.  (To the nearest hundredth.  "1.01"; look it up on Google)

Follow directions to play Battleship with your table partner. This is to help practice the way coordinates are written and the names/locations of parallels and meridians.
