PROBLEM:  LOOK CLOSELY!

You can see the red numbers indicating local elevation at certain contour lines of Quakertown.  In your notebooks give the elevation for:

  1. The red contour line in the upper right in the state game lands. (Example of how to write it - 1. Red Line = ___m)  This is part of Haycock Mountain.

  2. The yellow contour line to the right of Coopersburg

ANALYSIS:

1.  Notice the the areas with barely any contour lines.  Notice the areas where the lines are bunched together.  In your notebook, write down what this means.

2.  In most maps, the don't have colors assigned to the contour lines.  We are lucky to have technology.  We can see that red means we are up higher in elevation.  Question:  Is the town of Quakertown higher in elevation or lower in elevation than Lake Nockamixon

ANALYSIS

We've given Lake Nockamixon the nickname Lake "Nockanofish" until the last few years.  If you catch fish there, email Mr. Amen to help him catch more.  This was the only one he caught in a 5 hour trip.
