PRESSURE CALCULATION | APPLICATION
ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE
FOR YOUR NOTEBOOK:
Notes:
Pressure = Force Applied/Area of Which the force is Applied
Unit for Pressure is 1 N/m2 or 1 Pascal (Pa)
Force is measured in Newtons (N)
Surface Area is measured in Meters Squared (m2)
In American Units, it’s measured as PSI, “Pounds per square inch”
In System International Units (SI), 1 PSI is equal to 6895 Pa
Barometer - Tool used to measure pressure.
Blood Pressure Application - the recorded pressure of your blood on your arterial walls.
Hydraulics Application - We use fluids and the pressure equation to lift large objects with minimal force.
Weather Application - Pressure is the reason for wind.
There is a city near the top of the Andes mountains that no children can be born due to low pressure and low oxygen.
