LIST THE 10 GEOLOGIC WONDERS IN YOUR NOTEBOOK!
NOTES: TOPOGRAPHIC SLANG
Some Topographic Slang: (Words Mappers Use)
Relief - Mountains, valleys, and pretty much everything defined by contour lines.
Hydrography - The bodies of water on the map.
Vegetation - Wooded Areas, Forests, Jungles
Transportation - All roads, airports, trails, bridges, seaports and railways.
Toponymy - Landforms, Water Features and landmarks. (Examples: Mountain, Mesa, Peak, Oxbow Lake)
Culture - Areas of human existence
Boundaries - Invisible lines separating communities, townships, cities, counties, states, territories, and countries.

TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT:
You will be viewing 10 topographic images. For each image, in your notebook, I want you to write:
The title of the geologic wonder
The the evidence that leads you to believe it's that specific geologic wonder
One use of the "topographic slang" from Lesson 6 in a small sentence relating to the map. You must use at least 6 of the words through the entire activity.
